I have also uploaded a little something which is new but makes me feel pretty much the same way I did when I heard the track that inspired me enough to feel the need to blog about it. I have posted the track at the bottom.

Speakers Corner...READ!
Current mood: impressed
Category: Music
You write one blog and all of a sudden you feel the need to constantly let people know what you are thinking. Hahaha
Alright, in my opinion most of us Canadians sleep and are sleeping on our own talent. I can probably say that the majority of you reading this will agree on that statement. But at the same time it has been said many times by others and will be said many more times to come. Regardless of if I state it or someone else it really won't make much of a difference. I don't normally make any statements on music or I should say Canadian Hip-Hop to be exact because I believe that the listeners need to make a judgment on their own but at the same time I just heard a track by one of our own and I need to voice my opinion. This doesn't happen often...actually...it has NEVER happened but this track really hit a spot...and I need to voice it mang.
Artist: Tona
Track: Speakers Corner
Tona in my opinion is one of few upcoming MC's (and this goes worldwide, yes that's a big statement but in my opinion I truly believe it) who is really holding his ground and putting music out there that pleasures your ears. Judge for your self...it made a big enough impression on me to actually make me write about it!

Good music or I should say good Hip-Hop is hard to come by these days; a lot of these upcoming artists are putting tracks out there simply to just make a hit. Who cares what the lyrics say...just make a hit...put a good beat on it and that should do it. Sad to say but its true...sit back and think about it...take the majority of the tracks you bump your heads to at a club or in your car or at home or even see on television...really...do the lyrics make any sense or mean anything? NOPE...take away the beat and then try to listen to the lyrics...or better yet go look up the lyrics and tell me if you can still call that track a song. So take away the beat and most of these hits aren't really considered to be anything.
Lyrically the music we once knew as Hip-Hop has faded. I'm not saying it's gone but it's just hard to come by. I don't pick favourites and I won't name any of whom I prefer but I do think that us Canadians really need to start listening to the talent we have in our own backyard instead of constantly going south of the border because somehow someone said that's where all the talent is.
Now go listen...take it in...and I mean it...really take in the track...Speakers Corner! The lyrics speak for it self.
