Remix Radio - House Party Mixshow GLOBE-RADIO VOL. 30 - Electro / B-More Edition

Out today and I'm glad it is! This mix is crazy and just goes to show how versatile DJ Baby Yu is. Took a listen to it for the first time a couple of hours ago in my room and it had my dancing while typing...lol, I was ready to have a House Party in my room I was so hyped. I found myself talking out loud to myself about the remixes. Take a listen, download, enjoy!

Alicia Keys "The Element of Freedom"

I first heard "Doesn't Mean Anything" when Alicia Keys tweeted it. The song is absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to hear her forthcoming album "Elements of Freedom" set for release December 15th, 2009.
I have posted the video for her first single below. Watch & Enjoy!

Here is her 2nd single off the album "Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart". Just as beautiful as the first single. I know this album is going to be amazing for start to finish.
Listen & Enjoy!

KiD CuDi LIVE in concert @ Koolhaus (Toronto)

THE SUBSTANCE ENTERTAINMENT GROUP
&
REMG ENTERTAINMENT
PRESENT

KiD CuDi
with guests Keys N Krates
music by DJ Riccachet & DJ Thera-P - Sweet Touch Foundation

The Substance Group & REMG Entertainment are proud to present KiD CuDi live in concert at The Kool Haus on Saturday, November 28.

Brooklyn-based rapper KiD CuDi first gained attention after the release of his debut mixtape A KiD named CuDi, released in collaboration with New York street wear brand 10.Deep. The stand out single "Day 'N' Nite" became a massive hit in 2008, peaking at number 3 on Billboard Hot 100 and ruling the U.K. Dance Tracks charts.

Following the success of the single, CuDi caught the attention of Kanye West, and was recruited to lend his vocals on Kanye's 2008 album 808s & Heartbreak, singing with him on the track named "Welcome to Heartbreak", providing additional vocals on "Paranoid" and helping with songwriting on "Heartless". The same year CuDi signed with Kanye's G.O.O.D Music Label and performed at the 2008 VMAs along side Travis Barker and DJ AM.

KiD CuDi’s music fuses alternative rock, hip-hop and occasionally R & B, to form feel-good and emotionally conscious records. His debut album, Man on the Moon: The End of Day was released in September 2009 and features guest spots from Kanye West, Common, Snoop Dogg, Ratatat, MGMT, Clipse, 88-Keys and Chip tha Ripper.

After sampling Lady Gaga's "Poker Face" on the hit tune "Make Her Say" from his debut album, CuDi will be hitting to road with Lady Gaga herself, supporting her on ‘The Monster Ball’ North American Tour, rolling into town this November. Adding to the deafening online buzz, CuDi has been tipped as an artist to watch in such authoritative print outlets as Rolling Stone, Vibe, The Source, Interview, and XXL.

Skillz "Up All Night"

Skillz is definitely one of my favorite artists out there right now. Lyrically he can't be touched. "The Million Dollar Backpack" is one of my favorite albums up to date and I can't wait for his next project "INfamous Quotes" to be released.

In the mean time, here is a leak to one of the singles off the project.

ENJOY!

Stronger

What doesn't break you only makes you stronger...never regret any experience but learn from your mistakes...every experience is a learning lesson.
I personally don't think that you realize how strong you are until you are faced with a challenge. We face life changing decisions all the time. Sometimes you make the right choice the first time and sometimes it takes the wrong choice that makes your experience a life lesson.
I have been through a lot in my life so far and I know that I will be facing a lot more challenges ahead, and sometimes when going gets tough and giving up is all that seems to be an option and I start to lose my faith something happens to let me know that God is out there and works in mysterious ways. I've hit rock bottom, not just once or twice but three times. I'm still standing and its my faith in God, my family and my friends that got me through it.
So just remember, when going gets tough, don't give up, take some time to yourself to find peace, do what you need to do to find your strength and don't give up. Face all your challenges and don't run away from them. Just remember, rock bottom three times and I'm still standing.

DJ Excel...that's all I need to say!

It was only a couple of months ago when I first started hearing about DJ Excel and I can't believe I didn't find out about him sooner. This guy is absolutely AMAZING! We had him out in Toronto back in August and what he did on turntables I have never seen before. I was so excited to hear him spin that I didn't even want to go outside for a smoke break (yes smoking is VERY bad for you). I didn't want the night to end and can't wait for him to come back to Toronto. If you missed him, you need to make sure you check him out next time he is here.

He is constantly updating his site with show dates and live mixes. Check him out...you won't be disappointed.

He just uploaded his newest live mixes from a few gigs he did out in Philly. Make sure you download and take a listen...you will LOVE IT!

DJ Baby Yu comes home for one night only...

DJ Baby Yu is in my top 5 favorite DJ's of all time, and when he decided to move to Atlanta to further his career as much as I was happy for him but at the same time I was sad. This would mean that I would no longer be able to hear him throw it down on the 1's and 2's every weekend.
With that said...I cannot explain how excited I am that he will be DJing in Toronto this Friday (October 30, 2009) after a year.
