Can I Have Your Number?

This is an oldie but makes me laugh every time. I sometimes randomly think back to the clip and die laughing!!!
Hahahahahaha...

The Bird is the Word!

Okie before I go to sleep, I have to post my all time favorite Family Guy episode. If you didn't see it...YOU HAVE TO!!! Here is a clip I found on YouTube though. LOL...I laugh just thinking about it!!!

[Family Guy] Peter Griffin - Surfin Bird (The Bird Is The Word) - Family Guy

Umh...

Okie so I know that I have been slacking on writing but honestly it has been sooo busy at the office the past couple of weeks that the last thing I want to do when I get home is sit in front of my computer. But I figured it was time for an update. So the other day I stopped by LiveStock and I was ranting about Kid Cudi...honestly ppl if your not on his music yet you need to get on it and I'm not talking "Day N Night"...he has other songs...I honestly rate him a lot right now...so anyways back to the story, so my boy told me that I needed to take a listen to Wale. I got home, looked him up and I was very impressed...so randomly I started checking out other artists that aren't in the main eye so much and I came across Pacific Division...now Wale impressed me A LOT but Pacific Divison...I was shocked that I hadn't come across their stuff sooner. So if you really like your hip hop, then there are some recomendations if you don't know of them yet!!! Let me know what you think...I have actually posted some stuff below. Wale has a track with Kid Cudi...I'm very much feeling it. Okie on to another thing. The America's Best Dance Crew tour kicks off in Toronto on Saturday December 13th at Koolhaus. Now for those who now me...know that I am VERY EXCITED for this how. Super Cr3W is FINALLY gonna be in Toronto along with Fanny Pak, Supreme Soul and SoReal Cru. This show is going to be CRAZY. If you like dance or are a fan of the show I highly recommend you check the show out. Doors open at 8:00pm and tickets are still available at TicketMaster.CA...after Toronto the tour will continue across Canada (Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver). So to all the fans...don't miss this show. Okie, I'm gonna be honest, I'm super tired...so I'm not going to write much more...but I have posted the flyer for the ABDC Tour below along with a couple of tracks by Kid Cudi, Wale and Pacific Division. =D

An old Blog...

So this blog I posted on MySpace almost a year ago but I felt that it was worthy enough to be transferred over.

I have also uploaded a little something which is new but makes me feel pretty much the same way I did when I heard the track that inspired me enough to feel the need to blog about it. I have posted the track at the bottom.

Speakers Corner...READ!
Current mood: impressed
Category: Music

You write one blog and all of a sudden you feel the need to constantly let people know what you are thinking. Hahaha

Alright, in my opinion most of us Canadians sleep and are sleeping on our own talent. I can probably say that the majority of you reading this will agree on that statement. But at the same time it has been said many times by others and will be said many more times to come. Regardless of if I state it or someone else it really won't make much of a difference. I don't normally make any statements on music or I should say Canadian Hip-Hop to be exact because I believe that the listeners need to make a judgment on their own but at the same time I just heard a track by one of our own and I need to voice my opinion. This doesn't happen often...actually...it has NEVER happened but this track really hit a spot...and I need to voice it mang.

Artist: Tona

Track: Speakers Corner

Tona in my opinion is one of few upcoming MC's (and this goes worldwide, yes that's a big statement but in my opinion I truly believe it) who is really holding his ground and putting music out there that pleasures your ears. Judge for your self...it made a big enough impression on me to actually make me write about it!

www.myspace.com/tonamusic

Good music or I should say good Hip-Hop is hard to come by these days; a lot of these upcoming artists are putting tracks out there simply to just make a hit. Who cares what the lyrics say...just make a hit...put a good beat on it and that should do it. Sad to say but its true...sit back and think about it...take the majority of the tracks you bump your heads to at a club or in your car or at home or even see on television...really...do the lyrics make any sense or mean anything? NOPE...take away the beat and then try to listen to the lyrics...or better yet go look up the lyrics and tell me if you can still call that track a song. So take away the beat and most of these hits aren't really considered to be anything.

Lyrically the music we once knew as Hip-Hop has faded. I'm not saying it's gone but it's just hard to come by. I don't pick favourites and I won't name any of whom I prefer but I do think that us Canadians really need to start listening to the talent we have in our own backyard instead of constantly going south of the border because somehow someone said that's where all the talent is.

Now go listen...take it in...and I mean it...really take in the track...Speakers Corner! The lyrics speak for it self.

Keep Telling You - Tona feat. Famous

A very good battle...

I don't really need to say much about this next post...if you enjoy bboy battles then you will enjoy this video...I promise you!!! I must have watched this 20 times and I never get sick of it. For those of you who also like the the first track its by Frankie Valli VS The Four Seasons and its called Beggin'...its a 2 part battle and I have posted both in order to be watched.
I don't think I give it to either team...both are sick in my opinion. =D

Music

Just some songs I'm really feeling right now... =D

I really need to write something for this track...its takes me back...take a listen and take it in...track is fire!!! (Even though it says Common its actually by The Game feat. Common)
The CD "LAX" is actually pretty good...another track to definitely check out is "Ya Heard" featuring Ludacris. Couldn't find it to post.

Okie so as I was looking for the next song to upload and I came across the video...so here you go...(at least I can kinda follow this video unlike his first single video...that made so sense to me)

Now this next song, I'm actually really feeling even though I'm not her biggest fan...yes I said it...I'm not a huge fan...she's got some good tracks and some tracks that I really can't stand...however this one...I can stand. (Notice how the video is in Black & White and song is very much like Ciara's "Like A Boy" which also had a Black & White video? Hmmmm???)

Randomness

I'm sure everyone has their moments when they just really need time for themselves. I go through these every couple of months to be honest. I just take time to chill at home and put the phone on silent and berry messenger on not available and just do me. For the first time in a very long time I stayed home on a Friday and was in bed by 1am. Worked Saturday night and just watched movies, drank some wine on Sunday. It was great. I don't get to do that too often.

Last weekend I got really sick as well...I think I was actually fighting the flu and went to Niagara Falls on Tuesday for the final Jazzy Jeff show and pretty much lost my voice on Wednesday. Might not have been a good idea to go out on Tuesday but I had to actually do some work stuff too.
After losing my voice on Wednesday I decided that the only way I would get better is to stay home on Thursday. So in boredom I decided to play around with my phone...just upgraded my berry software to the 4.5 (not sure if I like it or not). But I had a theme on my phone that was only compatible for the 4.2 version...you know curiosity killed the cat...well I decided to pick it and see if it would work and guess what? It crashed my whole phone...had to call rogers and after 2 hours of being on the phone with tech support they said they were going to just send me a new one. Got the new phone on Friday and I'm back. Thank god I had my pearl from before and was able to use it as back up until I got the new one.

Me and no crackberry = a very unhappy Mahsa...LOL
So I was really in a writing mode but ended up getting some work e-mails and now my train of thought is gone.

Touch base soon.
M.

Here are some pictures from the Jazzy Jeff show in Niagara Falls.

DJ Jazzy Jeff 2008 Canadian Tour

Ok so the reason why I haven't updated my blog pretty much since the day it was created is because it has been crazy busy at the office and with work because of the 2008 Jazzy Jeff Tour. The tour it self kicked off in Vancouver on October 16th and touched down in Ontario (Toronto) on the 26th.
I worked at Republik Saturday night as usual...got home and finally to bed by 6am...was up again due to a work related issue at 9:30 am...was unable to fall back asleep...got out of of bed finally at noon...head to the airport, picked Jeff and crew up...took Darnell to soundcheck for 6:00pm. (Did I mention that I woke up with a killer soar throat on Sunday and felt like total shit...Cold FX...it works) Went to eat dinner around 7:30ish (first time eating for the day) Got ready, got them to the club for midnight...ran around like mad woman...got to bed for like 5:30am...was at work for 10am...got off at 6pm...had to meet up with someone...made it home for like 8...left the house for 9...drove to London...Jeff show in London was crazy rammed...the crowd actually started chanting his name...never seen anything like it. This one dude...stood in front of the DJ booth THE WHOLE TIME...now if anyone has been to a Jeff show will know...his set is for 2 hours....dude stood there the whole time. It was great! Made it home for 5am...was back at work at 10...then took Jeff by Livestock...that was like taking a kid to a candy store...so we were there for a good hour...then went to eat...then had to take care of some stuff...got to bed for 4:30am and was back at work for 10...when I got home Wednesday at 7pm...I slept for 14 hours straight...
Dude...I have never been soooo tired before in my life. I was avg. 4 hours sleep and 1 meal a day for 4 days straight...never been so burnt out before...I felt like Death...and prob looked it too...friend of mind mentioned that it was a good time of year to look and feel like Death with Halloween just around the corner. LOL
Was all rested for the Mississauga show on Thursday. Its amazing how every market is so different. Compairing the Sunday Toronto show, to Monday London show and then the Thursday Mississauga show was nuts. The crowd...his fan base is definitely HUGE and of all kinds. He played out in Sudbury on Wednesday...heard the show was CRAZY!!! He's off to Barrie tonight, Montreal Saturday, Ottawa Sunday, Kinsgton Monday and the final last show is in Niagara Falls on Tuesday. The total tour was 15 dates. Took a lot of planning to put it together but we did it...and the tour (knock on wood) went very smoothly. =D Can't even explain how happy that makes me. We just kicked off on Sunday another cross Canada tour for Doug Reinhardt from the Hills and next Wednesday kick of a west coast Jabbawockeez tour. Its CRAZY busy at the office. So I will try to blog as often as I can.
For those of you who are up for a drive on Tuesday...check out the Niagara Falls show at Dragonfly...you won't be disappointed.

Don't sleep on this...

Okie, well with music being my passion even though I don't sing, write or play any instruments I have so much LOVE for it! So with that said...you know I'm gonna be writing about it A LOT!!! Everyone always seems to say these days that good music is hard to come by and ya ya I even said that at one point BUT its not that hard...you just gotta listen in the right places.

This album dropped not too long ago and I keep telling everyone I come across that they need to get it and take a listen. The album is proper from the first track until the last (ALBUM IS FIRE). "Skillz - The Million Dollar Backpack ". Its been in my CD changer in my car since I got it and on my computer at work! So don't sleep on this ppl...if you haven't grabbed the album then you needz to get it...NOW I SAID!!!

Here is a taste!!!

I finally figured it out!!!

Okie so it took about an hour and even though I'm pretty friendly with computers and all that stuff it took me a couple of minutes to figure out how to lay the page out and add everything...what do you think?
So after all the talks at the office about blog sites...I finally decided to give it a shot...see how it goes...if it doesn't work out "the relationship" can always be ended! But for now...I'm here to stay and I ain't goin' NO WHERE!!! Imma LOVE u LOnG time! Heehee =P

Make sure you check out the sneakerz...

So welcome and enjoy!!! ☺
